searching for eyes that burn like mine.

You don’t have to say the best things,

Or profound things.

Your words don’t need to be guided, my love.

Silver-tongued or simple speech,

Just say sincere things.

Say all the words your heart feels and your head braces for you to choke on–

Speak like your heart took root in your vocal chords,

like the softest parts of you are a symphony,

and your truth is the conductor.

The world awaits your magnum opus.

Forgiveness is a verb

done at a high resistance.

Why I can’t stop writing about the same things

My hurt just wants to be heard.

People

They will be anchors or they will be wings.

I am a waterfall, and they let go

People only know how to want me with two hands,

and have no idea how to hold on.

We don’t always listen to the goodbye when it’s being said.
